Author Visit: Ryan T. Higgins

On February 18th MCS welcomes Ryan T. Higgins, an author/illustrator residing in Southern Maine. He lives with his three dogs, three cats, two geckos, one tortoise, one son, and one wife. As a child, he lived on a diet of cartoons, cheese sandwiches, and climbing trees. At the age of four he decided to become a cartoonist and he’s been making his own cartoons ever since. In 2008 Ryan wrote, illustrated, and published his first book, Twaddleton’s Cheese. Last year he shared this story as well as his 2012 published book, Roger Goes Up, with MCS students. His latest book, This Book Does Not Have Words, will be the focus of his presentation to the students about self-publication and life as an author. Ryan will give a presentation, including an interactive art activity, to students in grades K-4 in the MCS Media Center. Students will have an extraordinary experience hearing about all the amazing things Ryan has been up to since he decided to publish his first book.

In order to share this new story with students, I have created a video of This Book Does Not Have Words, by Ryan T. Higgins. Read by the famous Mrs. Greenbaum! :) Enjoy!
